GAME SUMMARY
The Junior Game started with the White team jumping out to a 13-0 lead. Ryan Perry lead a very balanced White team in the first half. Trey Eckloff was solid on defense controlling the paint. Terrance Dent was able to keep the Black team somewhat close with his active play.
The third quarter was much of the same with the White team in control. In the fourth quarter the Black team woke up and took a brief 75-74 lead after Derek Brekken scored five straight points, including a huge three pointer. After a timeout, the White team took the lead again with a 14-0 run and never looked back, eventually winning 92-82.
Dallas Elmore (Poudre) was named Most Outstanding Player. He had a strong fourth quarter and finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
TOP PERFORMERS
Dallas Elmore (6’5”-Poudre)-MOP
Elmore was named MOP with a balanced 18p, 7r, 4b effort. He finished the game strong and brought his team back late with some huge shots. He is freakishly athletic and strong and his perimeter shot has improved tremendously. He is easily one of the best players in the state, regardless of class and will have a ton of colleges pursuing him.
Ryan Perry (6’2”-Smoky Hill)
Perry is one of the best “unknown” players in the state and will be a huge part of his teams success this winter. He displayed his great shooting ability and finished the game with an impressive 17p, 5r and 3s.
Ashaun Drumgo (6’6”-George Washington)
Drumgo was incredibly active all night long and finished with a quiet 13p and 10r. He always seems to be around the ball and is very effective in the middle. He has the chance to be a very nice prospect with a little skill development.
Terrance Dent (6’1”-Mullen)
Dent was all over the court all night long. He is one of the better shooters in the state but demonstrated his ability to get to the rim as well. He finished with 10p, 3a and 3s.
Zach Tiedgen (6’5”-ThunderRidge)
Tiedgen was very active around the rim and displayed his balanced game by hitting some jump shots as well. He finished with 12p and 5r.
Trey Eckloff (6’9”-Cherry Creek)
Eckloff was tough on defense all night long. Although he only finished with 3 points, he finished with 10r and 4b and made some very nice outlet passes to start the break for his team.
